Watercolor on Yupo paper
Didn't realize this paper didn't absorb water. Was really annoyed by it at first, till I found out how well it works with just pure (no water added) watercolor. You can mix the color smoothly on the paper. Almost like painting with oil.

Friday Night Portraits
Watercolor portraits done at Literary Cafe in the past couple of months.
One thing neat about watercolor pencils, they are great for sketching when you plan to use watercolor later. Regular lead pencil lines don't dissolve with water and tend to linger. Watercolor pencil sketch lines can be blended with the watercolors later.
Also, for more precision, Le Pen is great, since their ink is water soluble. (Though avoid using colors that may muddy up your painting later)

A study in Sherlock
Pretty obvious what I've been watching lately. Made his face a little too long, but oh well, it was a fun expression study.
Charcoal on pastel paper.
About 5-6 hours, or less
